Protect your belongings with good sturdy boxes. Lightweight and over-used boxes will not give you the protection and peace of mind you need going into this move.
Box weight shouldn't be more than 50 pounds. To help keep box weight in line, put heavy items in your smaller boxes and lighter items in your larger boxes.
Breakables should be packed loosely with lots and lots of bubble wrap or packing paper. Fill all empty spaces in each box to avoid any shifting of the contents.
Use permanent markers to label each box. To expedite unpacking, label each box with the destination room name so that the movers can place them accordingly.
For fragile items, write "FRAGILE" in big bold letters on each box. Keep these boxes separated from the other boxes so that you can point them out to your mover for special handling.
